This weekend we can enjoy good concerts within some of the festivals in the Valencian Community. Our Spanish school, El Rincón del Tandem, tells you more in today’s post 😊
Music is an essential element of Valencia’s summer plans. Therefore, in the summer there is a varied offer of festivals in the Valencian Community.
So that our Spanish students can take advantage of the cultural events of the summer, we will tell them more about these musical events.
Let’s star!
XIII Festival de Música de Cámara de Godella
Till August 1
Teatro Capitolio y Villa Eugenia (Godella)
This festival is an important event for all lovers of chamber music. The Godella Chamber Music Festival began in 2009 and since then, has become a benchmark among festivals dedicated to this musical genre.
This year’s edition focuses on two ideas: the blending of cultures and resilience. In fact, the program, which includes prominent names from the Valencian, national and international music scene, is inspired by music as a means of emotional healing and intercultural dialogue.
This Saturday 24 will take place a double concert session:
– Valencian musicians in time of war and post-war. At 20.00 at the Teatro Capitolio.
The ensemble of the festival and the trio Arbós will play a repertoire of themes composed by Valencian musicians
– Word music, jazz and more, at 23.00h in Villa Eugenia.
The Robindro Nikolic Trio will delight audiences with world music with influences from jazz and classical music.

This weekend we will have the opportunity to enjoy concerts of great quality in the open air. This time, this weekend’s program takes us to the neighbourhoods of Patraix and Ruzafa with:
– The Pescaito Messenger – Saturday 24 at 8 pm in Patraix Square
Concert of the quintet winner of the Valencia Jazz Festival Contest 20219
– Manolo Valls Quintet: Balls de les Muses – Sunday 25 at 8 pm in the Central Park (Ruzafa)
The Valencian saxophonist Manolo Valls presents his album awarded with the Carles Santos award as best jazz album 2020.
Both concerts are free with limited seating
XXIII Festival de Guitarra de la ciudad de Elche
Till July 30
Sala Cultural La Lotja d’Elx (Elche)
From this Saturday until July 30 it will be possible to enjoy concerts in which the guitar will be the great protagonist.
The Elche City Guitar Festival is a musical proposal promoted by the Open Music Guitarists Association.
In addition to concerts, guitar courses and guitar performance competitions are held at the festival.
If you want to get to know better the world of the guitar and enjoy performances made by great talents, this weekend will take place the concert of the guitarist Luis Alejandro García (Saturday 24 at 9.30 pm) and the Concert of the Italian guitarist Giulia Ballarè (Sunday 25 at 9.30 pm)

Finally, we remind you that the 28th of July the Day of Archaeology will be celebrated.
Valencia will celebrate it with a series of free guided visits to five archaeological and emblematic areas of the city:
– El Almoina
– El refugio de Serrano
– La muralla islámica
– El refugio antiaéreo
– La intervención arqueológica de Plaza del Ángel
Visits will be made in small groups and it is necessary to book by calling 655 67 18 12 (from 9 am to 2 pm).
We hope this post about festivals in the Valencian Community will help you make plans for this weekend. As always, we invite you to enjoy the culture safely and to know a little more about our wonderful Valencia.
Finally, we encourage you to practice your Spanish outside the classroom and in everyday situations.
Our Spanish school, El Rincón del Tandem de Valencia wishes you a good weekend 🙂
