As every Friday, here we go with our suggestion of plans for the weekend in Valencia!
In order for our Spanish students to continue learning the language in informal situations and enjoy the Valencian cultural life, we leave here a brief description of some events.

The centre of contemporary culture October opens this afternoon a series of concerts by female musicians.
This is a cultural initiative promoted by the Cultural Action of the Valencia Country and will take place from September to December.
In these months, we will enjoy quality music by the hand of 6 Valencian singer-songwriters who will present their musical works.
Singer-songwriter Gem (Gema Vañó’s stage name) will premiere the free concert series this afternoon. Gem, who has already published three works, will play songs from his second album Satèl ∙its, a reflection on the technological drift of our times and the ephemeral.
All concerts in the cycle are free and have limited capacity. Therefore, it is necessary to book on this link
El Olvido que seremos

Watching movies in the original voice is one of the fastest and most effective ways to learn new words, expressions and improve your understanding of Spanish.
This weekend we will have the chance to see one of the films that are mostly appreciated by critics and the general audience.
El Olvido que seremos by de famous director Fernando Trueba, narrates the exciting story of Héctor Abada. The film will make us live three different periods in the life of the protagonist, a good man committed to social change and the improvement of life of the most vulnerable people in the Medellín of the 70s.
The film has received several awards, including the Goya for Best Ibero-American Film (2020).
15 Km Nocturna Valencia
Saturday 18 at 10.30 pm
Valencia is one of the favourite destinations of runners from Spain and other countries.
In fact, in the city of Turia, several marathons take place throughout the year.
This weekend, one of the most popular events among the enthusiasts of running will take place in night time.
The 15km Nocturna is an urban circuit, totally asphalted and flat, that begins in the Manuel Soto Avenue at 10.30 pm and ends in Avenida del Puerto.

Mona Hatoum
Till September 26th. From Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 7 pm. Friday, from 10 am to 9 pm.

Free entrance
In this exhibition we will be able to appreciate part of the works of Mona Hatoum. A British artist of Palestinian origin and prominent name of contemporary art at international level.
The exhibition consists of a selection of works from recent decades. Strolling through the rooms we will find installations, sculptures and works on paper that tell us about a creative work, suggestive and of great visual and emotional impact.
The closing of this interesting exhibition is just a few days away, so you do not miss the opportunity to see the work of this artist considered an icon of contemporary art 😊
