Russafart 2024.

With the arrival of summer, Valencia’s cultural agenda fills up with events and festivals for all tastes. This is Russafart’s weekend! The festival of art and local talent of the Ruzafa neighbourhood.
Our Spanish language school, El Rincón del Tándem, tells you more in this post. Check it out!

From Friday 7th to Sunday 9th June, Ruzafa hosts one of its most emblematic events: Russafart. This festival is held every two years in Ruzafa with the aim of promoting the artistic life of the neighbourhood.

Russafart was born from the innovative idea of creating a channel for dialogue and direct communication between artists and the public. Throughout the weekend, artists from the neighbourhood will open the doors of their workshops and studios to welcome visitors from all over the world and show them both their creation and workspace.

Under the motto “Accionar el arte”, this 15th edition of the biennial promises us once again a pleasant experience between contemplative moments and dialogues with the artists.
A unique opportunity to enter the spaces where creativity flourishes and to satisfy our curiosity about the artist’s craft and creative process.

Whether you are art lovers or not, we suggest you don’t miss this exciting journey through multiple artistic expressions.
In fact, numerous and diverse are the disciplines covered by the biennial. Among them:

– Painting, urban art, collage, drawing, sculpture, photography, illustration, etc.
– Textile art, ceramics, glass art and artistic jewellery.
– digital art, video art, graphic design and 3D printing
– Restoration, engraving and printing.

So, it’s impossible not to find something that doesn’t suit our artistic tastes, right?

The festival’s participatory network is made up of 61 workshops, 25 exhibition spaces and more than 270 artists.
On this special occasion, neighbourhood shops, cafés, theatres and schools will fill their premises with the creations of artists, photographers and sculptors.

Take a look at the map of the exhibitions and create your own tour of the festival!

7th “Russafart 2024” Speed Painting Competition.

If you feel like putting your artistic skills to the test or discovering if you have any, this Competition will give you the opportunity to do so!

The 7th edition of the competition gives us the chance to discover and portray our favourite corner of the neighbourhood.
The theme of the competition is a landscape or an artistic interpretation of Ruzafa. Registration will take place on Saturday 8th June in the Hall of the Cultural Centre Nave 3, located in the Central Park, from 9:30am to 10am.

If you want to know all the guidelines and conditions of the competition, you can consult them here.

Are you up for it?

Espacio Alhambra sin prisa.

As you already know, in Spain there is no event without gastronomy and music.

The Espacio Cervezas Alhambra located in Ruzafa Estudio (Calle Pedro II el Grande, n.11) invites us to “enjoy without haste” the festival through the 5 senses.
The programme includes a wide range of activities such as craft workshops (pottery, embroidery, candles), concerts and DJ sessions.
On the gastronomic side, it is worth mentioning the food and wine tastings and beer pulling workshops guided by a master brewer.

In addition to the Espacio Alhambras, other venues will host simultaneous activities such as performances, workshops, concerts and demonstrations.

At El Rincón del Tándem Spanish school we are very happy to repeat the experience and to join once again the festival partnership network.

Tomorrow, Friday 7th of June at 7pm, we will celebrate the opening of Russafart in our school, simultaneously with the other collaborating entities.

So, just for a few days, we will put aside books and blackboards, to make room for the work of the photographers Víctor Moneva, Susana Galbis, Víctor Abellón, Sergio Hérnaez, Boreas and the painter Fesma.

If you don’t have time to join the opening event, you can always visit the exhibitions at the following times:
Saturday, 8th of June, from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm. Sunday, 9th of June, from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm.

We look forward to seeing you!
