Our Spanish school El Rincón del Tándem selected a list of events to help its students make the most of their stay in Valencia. Have a look at the below post and get ready for a fun and lively week-end 😉
IX Distrito 008
Saturday, 6th and Sunday, 7th. All day
Barrio de Extramurs, Valencia
The yearly appointment with Distrito 008 has come. Distrito 008 is an urban festival, aiming at revitalizing the 008 zone of the Extramurs neighborhood through culture, leisure and local shops.
With the slogan “Let’s go out on the streets”, the festival offers us the chance to join the neighborhood life throughout the week-end. In the Saturday program we point out Photowalk, a photographic route, promoting the city through the street photography, an urban sustainability Lab, and the “I Am Free” dance performance in the afternoon. On Sunday, we also suggest Golpe poético, a poetry duel between published poets and street poets, as well as the gastronomic route, where you can taste typical local dishes.
A perfect plan to mingle with local people and to get to know life in Estramurs!
4º Edition Graffitea Cheste
Saturday, 6th and Sunday, 7th. All day
Cheste (Valencia)
This week Cheste celebrates the 4º edition of Graffitea Festival. The festival is a cultural initiative, promoted buy the culture councillorship and the Valencian group Wall Arttitude. The street art intervention foresees the participation of international artists, like the Argentinian Cobre, the Mexicans Los Calladitos and the Portuguese Godmess, as well as Valencian artists, like Dehi, Freskales, and the artistic couple Antonio Tone y César Goce.
The event will close on Sunday, with the cultural route, starting at 11.00 a.m. from Plaza Castillo. During this walk through all the artworks an expert guide will tell about the meaning and contexts of each mural.
To reach Cheste from Valencia, you can take the regional railway – line C3 at Estación del Norte.

If you feel like going shopping without spending too much money, this is a perfect chance! At this market you fill find a variety of objects and accessories at good price and from local shops.

Piano duel 6.0
Sunday, 7th, 12.00 a.m.
Amstel Art – Veles y Vents, Marina de Valencia
The initiative, promoted by two famous pianists from Valencia music scenario, propose us a music duel between different styles and sonorous worlds. During the performance short and animation films will be set to music, in a lovely maritime setting.
