What is DELE diploma?
DELE is the acronym of Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language).
DELE diplomas are qualification that officially certify a certain degree of mastery of the Spanish language.
DELE diplomas are granted by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Spain.
In order to obtain a DELE diploma, students of Spanish language have to take and pass a DELE examination. DELE exams are designed following the guidelines of the CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and are available for all the CEFR language levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).
Why to get a DELE diploma?
Foreign people who wish to apply for a job or to enrol in higher-education centres (like university) in Spain and Spanish speaking countries, might be asked to submit an official certificate and required to have reached a certain degree of mastery of the language.
Also, many employers in both public and private sectors, usually ask their candidates to prove their proficiency of Spanish language with an official certification, like DELE.
Besides, the DELE diploma is valid worldwide. Having it will open doors in all Spanish-speaking countries and increase your employability inside and outside your country.
Lastly, the diploma is valid indefinitely.
DELE exams: Where and When?
The DELE exams take place in the examinations centres that are accredited by the Institute Cervantes.
Students of Spanish language can take the exam in Spain or in any other country where the Cervantes Institute has an office (more than 100 countries all over the world).

The DELE exams are composed of 4 tests:
1. First: Reading Comprehension
2. Second: Listening Comprehension
3. Third: Written Expression and Interaction
4. Fourth: Oral Expression and Interaction
