Like every Friday, our Spanish school El Rincón del Tándem gives you some suggestions for the weekend. Take a look at our blog … you will find events for every taste 😉
Whether it rains or not, we are always ready to enjoy a fun weekend full of events for every taste.
This time we invite all the students of our Spanish school to know the arts, local talents and sustainable food of Valencia.
Are you ready to spend a lively weekend? If so, let’s see together what we suggest…
JIV 0.3 Illustration Days
Saturday 8, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mercado de Tapinería, Calle de la Tapinería 15
Free event
This weekend we will have the opportunity to appreciate Valencian illustrators and designers’ talents.
JIV 0.3 is an unmissable chance to attend live the creative process of some illustrators and even to learn about artistic techniques.
The event program includes several types of activities.
First, there will be a Market of illustration where artists will allow us to watch them while creating small works and where we can buy some.
Second, the JIV Atelier. A learning space with workshops that are addressed to a very diverse audience of all ages. We highlight the Digital Marketing Workshop for Artists (Saturday at 12 p.m.) and the Watercolor Galaxy Workshop (Saturday at 6.30 p.m.).
Third, we will be able to appreciate Body Art performances during which we will be fascinated with this very original technique.
Finally, several Djs will play music all the time.

Besarabia
Saturday 8 at 8 p.m.
Espai Sankofa, Calle de la Beata Agnés 10
Free concert
We always make some time to enjoy live music in the weekend…
Today we suggest you to go to Besarabia’s concert. This trio is composed of musicians from various backgrounds whose strength is the encounter among cultures.
Its repertoire brings together interpretations of traditional Balkan music themes and original music works.
We encourage you to undertake this musical journey, visiting lands where cultures met in the past… from the Mediterranean to the Balkans, from west to east.
Jogos Ibéricos de Abadá Capoeira
Saturday 8 and Sunday 9
CEIP Miguel Hernández, Calle Esteban Dolz Castellar 2
Free event
We love events that celebrate the cultural diversity of our city 🙂
Therefore, we mention this special event that this year celebrates its XVI edition and that will be held in Valencia for the first time.
Jogos Ibéricos is a unique opportunity to learn about this Afro-Brazilian discipline through talks, training and competitions among professionals.
The event will bring together members of the Brazilian Association for Support to the development of Capoeira Art (ABADÁ) from Portugal and Spain.
ABADÁ Capoeira is an integral project that, through martial arts, achieves educational, cultural and social awareness objectives. We also emphasize that this initiative is carried out thanks to the support of Torrefiel and Orriols neighbourhood associations and organizations, like Asociación cultural Favela, Asociación África en el corazón, Valencia Acoge, etc.
That sounds too good to be missed…
Vegan Tapas Route
Saturday 8 and Sunday 9
Several venues
Price: from 1.5 to 2.5 euros
This year Valencia celebrates the 4th edition of the Vegan Tapas Route. A gastronomic event organized by the association Feria Vegana Valencia that promotes places that offer this type of food.
Thanks to this route, we will learn more about veganism, tasting tapas and products made only from ingredients of plant origin.
Bars, restaurants, bakeries and other shops, located in several neighbourhoods of the city, are going to take part in the initiative. Among them l’Eixample, Ciutat Vella, Poblats Marítims, etc.
Finally, you can check here the complete list of all the route venues and schedules.
If you are not vegan but you are interested in exploring a more sustainable and conscious way to consume, we advise you to take advantage of this tasty chance 😉
As always, we wish our blog will help you enjoy events for an taste this weekend..
From our Spanish school El Rincón del Tándem we encourage you to make the most of your stay in Valencia.
Finally, we remind you that every occasion is good to improve your Spanish, practicing it with your friends or new people 😉
Have a nice weekend!
