The first weekend of June our neighborhood will come alive with Russafart 2018 – the festival of art in Valencia. During the weekend many local galleries and studios are going to be open for public. Read on to find out what activities are prepared for you.
The main goal of this festival is to give public an insight into the art. Local galleries and studios will hold workshops to demonstrate their techniques and workplace. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the work of artists in more than 60 studios and 28 exhibition areas.
The program
The official inauguration will be held on Friday 1st of June at 19. The galleries and workshops will open at that time and it’s also the beginning of Ruta de bares as the main sponsor of this year’s festival is Alhambra. It means that you can get a gift for a consumption of one Alhambra Especial beer in the selected bars around Russafa during Russafart (from 1st June till 3rd June). The gifts are coasters and backpacks. Check the official page of Russafart to find out which bars participate in the Ruta de Cervezas Alhambra. The main events are planned for Saturday 2nd June. The workshops and studios will be open from 10 to 14 and from 17 to 21:30. From 9:30 to 14 you can take part in the competition called Fast painting (Concurso de pintura rápida). The meeting point is Escuelas de Artesanos (Av Antiguo Reino de Valencia 40). The topic is a painting or plastic art of Rusaffa neighborhood.
On Sunday 3rd of June the opening hours of the workshops stay the same as on Saturday. At 20:30 the results of the competition will be known and the awards given to the winners in the Sporting club Russafa (c. Sevilla 5 b.). At 21 the closing ceremony will be hold in the same place.
